PHP upgrade needed
Active support of PHP 7.3.x ended 10 months ago. After Dec 6, 2021 there will be no more security fixes. When will we be able to upgrade our sites to something above PHP 7.3.28?

Re: PHP upgrade needed
From Number 8 in "10 Ways to Improve Tech Support": FutureQuest tech support monitors the Community Forums and Support Email regularly 24 hours a day 7 days per week. Posting your message to the forums and sending it via email is the same as sending the message twice and it will cause delays. By doing this you are double taxing the tech support team forcing them to respond twice to the same person concerning the same problem. If the problem is general in nature, the forums are a great place to post the question as the answer is given to others for future reference as well.
Maybe it's time to send an email anyway and risk a delay? After all, this question was only posted 24 days ago.

Hopefully an email isn't ignored another 24 days.

Re: PHP upgrade needed
On the FutureQuest Command N Control Server Information page it shows that some of the listed PHP versions are current and some receiving security fixes only. In fact, ALL the listed versions are past end-of-life and are not receiving any patches at all. When can we expect some attention here?

Re: PHP upgrade needed
I did see this when it was first posted. Unfortunately I have been distracted with a very sick mom and haven't had much time to work on it.
This is especially complicated by the fact that the hospital WiFi blocks ssh access and all the work to upgrade PHP would be done over ssh. In a pinch I can tether my laptop to my phone and then ssh that way but unfortunately that is glitchy and ssh is really bad at glitchy.
I may be able to put some time into it this weekend but either way I will carve out some time on Monday to work on PHP upgrades. The first step will be to upgrade to the latest of the 7.3 branch as that only takes time not work. Then I will have to figure out if I should work on both the 7.4 and then 8.0 branches or just skip 7.4.

Re: PHP upgrade needed
The first step has been completed. The upgrade to PHP 7.3.33 is being pushed out to all of the servers right now. Except for WALLE. It is having an issue that I will look into tomorrow if I can. The CNC will not immediately show the change but phpinfo() will.

Re: PHP upgrade needed
Actually, the upgrade worked on WALLE. I keep forgetting that our shared storage system doesn't immediately free up space when something isn't deleted. If it gets to 100% it can take a solid 30 minutes to start working again once stuff is deleted.
Anyway, all of the community servers are done. The MQS servers are all that is left and they are being done in order.

Re: PHP upgrade needed
Will we be able to upgrade PHP through the CnC/Server Info/PHP, which is very out-of-date now? Or, will we need to edit our .htaccess file, assuming the necessary overrides are in place?
