Outgoing Mail Unusually Sluggish/Delayed

Hello-

Past several days our outgoing mail server (mail.filmarchivesonline.com) seems very slow/sluggish during the send process no matter the client (i.e., Thunderbird) or device used (Chromebook, PC, iPad, iPhone). Often we are not seeing the send file percentage count followed by the "successfully sent" alert. Sometimes we need to resend one or more times. Post-send, mail is intermittently delayed or sometimes never shows up in a Sent Mail Folder, although recipient eventually does get the message. Is there anything FutureQuest can check on regarding this issue?

We've been seeing the same issue for more than a week. I submitted a support ticket but never got a response.

Our sysAdmin is aware of the reports that we have had with similar issues and he is currently taking a deep look into the mail servers as ​there is nothing obvious that would be causing this (things such as the mail servers being down or overloaded/throwing errors.

We will update once we find anything.

Has anyone noticed if this has improved today? I fixed a small configuration error last night that was causing occasional IMAP/POP problems but it could be doing the same to SMTP.

Tried sending one outgoing item last night directly from QuestMail-got a couple of random SMTP errors ("authentication failed" plus an error number I failed to catch). Tried a few more times but ultimately message couldn't be sent. Canceled and used another service to send.

We've been having this issue for two weeks. Same error message authentication failed.
Solution - a work around until it's properly solved - is to GET mail then SEND mail immediately. That solves the authentication issue. ANNOYING though. SAME issue on QuestMail too, so it's not "us".
Reported on the 20th October, and other than "We are not seeing any obvious issues for this (server outages or anything along those lines) so I have passed this along to the sysAdmin to dig deeper to see if he can find any issues." on the 20th, I have had no response to my service request, which I have now upgraded to Urgent.

Mail is still intermittently delayed using Thunderbird 91.3.0
