I agree, this is a great point by Terra and chernove supporting it. Actually "I have no friends" while our company and brands are on facebook, our customers are on facebook, I just do not engage with it personally.

So what about a cell phone text broadcast for this type of thing. Don't get me wrong I also have no friends on my cell phone.

Or what about gmail as a backup, that is what we are doing when we go down with the customers, vendors and associates that we can contact. If you sent me a Gmail I could let everyone know what is going on. Instead of them telling me, Futurequest is down again.

Even so, the beat down I take when you go down is unbearable. I lose; sales, communications with vendors and customers, eCommerce profits, 2 step login verification and credibility to name a few.

Plus worst of all, my business and life partner (someone I spend 95% of the day with) is our financial person. You do not want to make her mad. She is very, very mad right now.

I hope this helps.

May it not be time to dump the creaking FutureQuest infrastructure and move it to AWS? We would get https2, gzip, HSTS, and other essential features.

One of the DNS servers needs to be a different network. And maybe these forums. Put a blade in Dallas or whatever.

In addition to Facebork and Twitter, FQ has a Blogspot for alerts, but the last post was June 2, 2019. https://fqstatus.blogspot.com/

You're busy fighting the last war. Who is thinking about what could go wrong next?

Maybe I've missed something but what the heck happened to Deb? Did she die? Did you get divorced?

It is apparent to me that you, Terra, are technically competent but I have seen no sign of management expertise. Resource allocation is a problem. Parallel tasking is a problem. Prioritization is a problem. Balancing long-term and short-term tasks is a problem.

It seems to me that you are past due to hire someone to be your boss. If the graph on this site https://webhostinggeeks.com/providers/futurequest is correct you're bleeding customers and recent events will not make that better. You need help or there won't be anyone left to be helped.

You're already making excuses. There isn't much left after that.

Re: [FQuest Notice] Secondary core router power supply failure

Terra, please hire someone whose job it is to monitor the network and immediately notify us with any info you have. We don't need details we just need to know a window of time for being up and running again. If you don't have the budget for a full-time person get an intern or a part-time on call worker. We trust that you have the technical skill to address these complex issues but your company does not currently have a client liaison. Get one, even if it's a 14 year old in their mom's basement who can post on every site possible when the network is down. You could probably do this for an average of $200/month - averaged out over a year. 1) network goes down 2) you text the 14 year old 3) the 14 year old posts on twitter and sends out text alerts to your client database 3) once an hour you update the 14 year old as to ETA for fixing - give us a window - 1 to 3 hours - 10 minutes to 24 hours - doesn't matter we need a window of time and 4) when it's all fixed you can come on and explain everything for people whose eyes don't glaze over reading it.

Not sure how accurate it is, to be fair/honest.
I looked at about 10 or 15 hosts on their site and every single one of them showed the same relative precipitous drop for the same time period (April 5 to Dec 13)

Re: [FQuest Notice] Secondary core router power supply failure

There's clearly something going on with the 'Terminated Domains' stat in that period, almost the entire amount of loss for each host is in that category.

The more relevant period is the previous 6-7 years and which I think skolnick was referring to. Compare that to other hosts.
