Subscription website content issues

Hey there guys. For several years now, I've had a subscriber side to my website that offers exclusive content to those subscribers with a couple of different levels. It has worked with no issues until recently. I'm using Paid Memberships Pro to facilitate the service. Recently, I've had subscribers sign up, payments go through, but the next time they come back and try to sign in their membership is automatically cancelled (I receive a notice about this cancellation) and they are dropped down to the free "guest" membership. I was thinking that this has to do with Paid Memberships Pro and have spent quite a few hours scouring all aspects of that plugin. The recent email woes with FQ have made me question whether this might have something to do with FQ's side of things. Is that possible? I used to think my email hiccups were random, but they certainly now seem to be firmly in FQ's court, so is this anomaly the same deal? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Re: Subscription website content issues

I don't have experience with Paid Memberships Pro, but it seems unlikely that email problems would impact on it. I wouldn't want to use a payment system that relied so much on email if it did!

Are you sure that the payments are going through (ie is the money actually reaching your account?) I did some quick Googling* and it seems that Paid Memberships Pro can automatically downgrade a membership if the payment failed at the Payment Gateway. There's also something at the bottom of this page about Paypal Express, that if the user completes payment at Paypal but doesn't click back to your website, they might not actually have an account made for them yet:

https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/o...iptions-pmpro/

Again, I'm not familiar with Paid Memberships Pro so I might be sending you off on a wild goose chase here. But maybe if you can see the Order Status on those orders and compare it with the link above, it might give a hint on what's going wrong.

(If it is related to email, I've successfully switched the email on one of my FQ domains to a dedicated email host, so I might be able to give some tips - but I don't think this one is related to email.)

*(Actually Bing-ing, but that sounds too much like I was watching Netflix, am I the only one left using Microsoft Bing?....)

Re: Subscription website content issues

Thanks Syneryder. The payments are indeed getting to me. The initial one anyway. It seems to be when they try to come back and login that it downgrades their membership, but I'll certainly go down this new rabbit hole. I didn't think that the email issues, per se, were the problem. I was merely concerned that FQ's service seems to be falling apart lately and this was a problem caused by some other, unseen aspect of their service failing miserably without them saying a word about it...
