Come on Futurequest gives us something in the way of the status!

Re: Email down 11-30-2020

That's the frustrating part. No matter what the issue they are facing may be, we need to have an ETA. I could sit tight for 24 hours, despite my frustration with the lack of real status, but now that we've crossed 24 hours I need to put the interests of my business and users ahead of loyalty to a company I've supported for 17 years. It is killing me to have to start putting the pieces in place to migrate. I do not want to go, but I'm about to -have- to go.

In exactly the same situation as kevinabutler. Life preserver on and one leg over the rail, now we need some information from you: "She's going down" or "A little more patience, we got this."

Re: Email down 11-30-2020

I can understand if FQ aren't able to give an ETA, but some kind of communication would really be appreciated.

Here's an example of how they do things during an outage at DreamHost. They have a separate Status domain, with timestamped updates roughly every hour, even if it's just to say "our Engineers need more time, we'll update you again in an hour":

Not that I'm actually recommending DH, I've found email can be flaky over there & pages regularly timeout for site visitors. But I do like how detailed their Status updates can be.

Re: Email down 11-30-2020

I just deactivated 3 of my reseller accounts and told the remaining 3 that we'd be changing as soon as I can find the time to do it and in the meantime told them to get gmail accounts and give that address to all of their important contacts. They are not happy. My own business is suffering greatly. People are starting to light up the phone lines wondering why I haven't responded to them. Never ever would I have imagined ending my 20 year relationship with Futurequest this way. Something must really be wrong at the top. Sad.

Re: Email down 11-30-2020

I've already begun the process of opening a new email hosting account at a reputable host - one with 100% uptime guarantee. I know that this is true because in the last two years that I've been with them they have NEVER had an email outage. I'll be moving all email services next weekend. End of December/beginning January I'll be moving everything else to another host as well. I'm tired of being treated like nothing. And despite what my profile says, I've been with FutureQuest since 2000. What has happened to you people?

Re: Email down 11-30-2020

I have been a customer with FQ since 2004. I haven't posted in this forum previously but felt compelled to do so as a result of recent events.

Following the 24+ hour general outage at the end of October, I had expected to receive a detailed explanation of what went wrong and the steps that FQ were taking to avoid a repeat. I am still waiting for that explanation.

Just over a month later, we now have a 24+ hour email outage and again very little detail as to what has occured or when it will be resolved.

Whilst I can put up with some downtime, I cannot put up with poor communication. It saddens me to see a once great web host come to this. I have started exploring other options for my web hosting.

That's exactly my position. If I had a status or ETA or something to go on maybe I'd hang on a little longer, but I'm out of time. I can't go 48 hours without email in my business. We're at a standstill with quotes and going to look really really bad to customers.

Re: Email Services
As far as we know, emails are still being received and queued for delivery.
We've had multiple reports of emails being bounced to our accounts

Re: Email down 11-30-2020

Sent a test email from an aol account to one of my email addresses here (been with FQ for many years)- it was bounced.
... I used my old aol account to register here today, since my FQ email accounts are not working properly.
