Re: Email down 11-30-2020

I can't reply on the other thread because I don't have "site owner" status because I had to set up a new account. Does anyone have a recommendation for another email service so we can switch our domain names over to a more reliable company? I can't take any more days like this and shouldn't have to. Thanks.

I'll second the request for suggestions about alternative providers for e-mail and web hosting. Futurequest is rapidly deteriorating. Support for IMAP and multiple accounts is a must, but I don't need anything too fancy for web hosting. Would pay a little more for some redundancy and stability.

I use Rackspace Email Plus for another client. Once this latest outage is solved I'll be moving the email over there too. Still looking for a new host.

Can FQ please provide an update.

What is wrong with our email service? I think we are approaching 18 hours without email.

Thanks! I've migrated my e-mail hosting to a new account on Create.com. Took me less than an hour to get everything configured with the same accounts, aliases, forwarding, filters, etc. Even managed to quickly migrate a simple single-page web site in that same time. Now just waiting for the DNS updates to propagate!

Thanks for the advice on different companies - keep them coming I have a fair amount of stuff that needs to be transferred for multiple clients. I always assumed Futurequest would give us plenty of warning if they were to go out of business. Maybe they don't realize themselves that it's happening.

Re: Email down 11-30-2020

We've been with FutureQuest for something like 20 years. But our use is just personal and mostly email service so the outages are mostly an annoyance and only a minor concern. But if I was running a business depending on FQ services, I'd be livid, and mostly due to the abysmal communications and transparency. I fully expect several clients to jump ship this time. I do not have any idea of FQ's financial status, but this could be a real problem. I am going to look into what our options are.

Re: Email down 11-30-2020

Yes, Art. I've been with Futurequest since pretty much the beginning. Today, however, I am down $12K because of not being able to send statements. Using a gmail account and hoping it doesn't go into clients spam. I'll get it eventually but I need it today and because I couldn't send statements yesterday I don't have it. It's a lot of money. Can't run a business - actually multiple businesses using Fquest anymore but it's going to take me a LONG time to convert everything. Really sad about this. When my business has bad problems it's my job as owner to communicate constantly with clients while simultaneously fixing the problems. It appears Futurequest no longer has someone in that CEO role and no matter how good the top technicians are, nothing takes the place of a true leader communicating with clients. Stressed and sad, I am. And I know these posts do no good but they make me feel better - as screaming into the void usually does
