Web hosting and Office 365 Business

I currently own several domains that are used with an Office 365 Business account. DNS for these domains are also handled by Microsoft and I can edit the DNS zone info as needed.

Primary Domain: example.com
Additional Domains: example.net

I currently have Office 365 Business set up to treat all of these domains as equivalent, so emails to any one of them all go to the primary.

I do not have any web hosting set up for these domain(s), but if I were to set up web hosting with FutureQuest, how would this be handled? I want to keep my email services with Microsoft, but direct any website requests to FutureQuest.

I want to keep my current email routing (i.e. user@example.com still needs to go to Microsoft's servers), but I want 'www.example.com' to point to FutureQuest. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks.

Re: Web hosting and Office 365 Business

You would open an account with us using whichever domain you want us to host. Then you can either tell MS to point the A records of the domain and www.domain to the IP address we assign to your account (you should be able to see how that works now) or you can transfer the DNS hosting to us via your domain registrar and use our DNS manager to point your email MX record to MS.

The latter option would take a bit longer since you would have to make changes in two places instead of one but as long as you did it in the right order there wouldn't be any downtime for the email.

For the latter option, I'm assuming the "correct order" would be:
1. Update DNS records on FutureQuest
2. Change Registrar DNS to point to FutureQuest
3. Remove DNS records from Microsoft

( Bit rusty on my DNS stuff... )

Correct except that you don't really need #3. Once #2 is done nobody will ask them anymore.

Re: Web hosting and Office 365 Business

Office 365 web hosting and business. It is a pleasure to work on this hosting. As for me, everyone has used this hosting at least once. Very easy to use and pleasing to the eye. At the moment, of course, I'm using a different web host, but it's still nice to understand how different the hosts are and how different their applications are. At the moment I only use one site that helps me with hosting and their use in general. Very often this site helped out in case of problems using hosting. Thanks to the site for helping me develop in my early years. The site is really useful 28mse
