Re: How to install WordPress...
Thanks for those links Bob. Have looked at the 1st link previously, and watched several install videos, they all looks complicated and I get lost in the process. I would rather not have to deal with WordPress at all, over 2k files for cripe sake. For 2 weeks I've been reading, watching videos, have attempted to conceive a blog-like, simple text-based website and for the 200 or more hours I've put into WP has produced next to nothing, or the site just disappears even with backing up, saving as draft, publishing, using pre-configured sites, themes, plugins, for me it's been a horrible experience and my conclusion it's a wretched program. Have done the localhost thing with XAMP on my PC, and my Mac mini Server. Even after creating something on either OS, you still gotta jump through hoops to get it up on the server. If I could afford it I would use Dreamweaver or similar. Anyone who enjoys WP has my admiration. Sorry for the rant. My last hope is the 2nd link you supplied. Regards, Paul.
