WordPress - can't find database file

This is my site that I'm want to edit the body text: www.quintegrasscutting.ca

I also read that it's in this file: wp-config.php

Here is some text from the file:
/** MySQL database username */
define('DB_USER', 'xchalet_by_the_l');

/** MySQL database password */
define('DB_PASSWORD', '');

/** MySQL hostname */
define('DB_HOST', 'MySQL.chalet-by-the-lake-b-and-b.com');

/** Database Charset to use in creating database tables. */
define('DB_CHARSET', 'utf8');

Have looked in every file throughout my directories and am unable to figure out where the body text is. I am not familiar with WP, had some outfit overseas do it.

Thanks for any help.

Regards, Paul.

Re: WordPress - can't find database file

Wordpress keeps all of the contents in the database. There isn't a file you can just edit. You have to use Wordpress to control Wordpress.

Bummer. So can't edit like I'm able to in the Header and Footer files?

Your WordPress content is managed from your WordPress Admin Panel:

WP Login wants Username and Password. Don't have. Tried "get new password" and doesn't like any of my email addresses. I guess I'm dead in the water.

For WordPress-related issues, the best place to look would be the WordPress support pages:
https://wordpress.org/support/

I would start with this FAQ:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password

Re: WordPress - can't find database file

Back in 2016 had some guy(s) redo the Quinte and Grass-Roots sites that I did in Dreamweaver back around 2002. All I wanted was to have various Devices able to render on various screen sizes instead of text appearing unreadable. Didn't know they did it in WP (not WordPerfect) until I paid them. So the Login Info very likely resides with them and am not able to contact. All I'm able to do is Login to wordpress.org.

So are you saying that there isn't a .php file containing the Body Text similar to the Header and Footer files which I've been able to edit in a Text Editor in the Quinte directory?

Re: WordPress - can't find database file

The admin user on your site is named "admin". The password is also stored in the database just like the site content. The good news is that it can be changed pretty easily. Here is the MySQL command:
Code:
update wp_users set user_pass = md5('new_password') where user_login = 'admin';
You can also do this by eiting the wp_users table with the phpMyAdmin that is available in your CNC.

Re: WordPress - can't find database file

Thanks for the various replies and suggestion. Have yet to deal with due to a blunder. I was in the dashboard of my site: www.grass-roots-lawn-service.ca
and made some changes in some menus include Security. Now the site won't load. I did a Backup of the site, but at this point I'm afraid to change anything.

Would appreciate some suggestions. Thank you.

Regards, Paul.
