Being flagged as Spam by Gmail's filters

This past year I started having unbelievable problems with Gmail flagging emails from my domain as spam. These have all been emails sent from my Futurequest-hosted domain email servers to individual gmail recipients: no bulk emails were involved. Despite being very careful with subject lines and trigger words, roughly 80% of my emails still get flagged as spam by Gmail's filters. I've done some reading about the bewildering array of authentication schemes out there (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and Google postmaster verification) but I'm sort of at my wits end as to which path to pursue. If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Being flagged as Spam by Gmail's filters

I have long been having similar issues, but mainly with large corporate recipients, where the corporation is using Hardware based Spam Detection.

All individual emails being sent here as well.

I have had to set up a separate GMail account to be able to send email to these recipients.

In talking to the Corporate IT for one of those, it is because ultimately the email comes from mx.futurequest.net (used by over 4000 domains).

FQ is using DKIM which helps with some of this (Google does take this in to consideration).

Check your Email Manager in CNC, to see what your DomainKeys is set to. It should be set to 'Sign Some' for your domains, which is currently the recommended setting per FQ.

I don't know if that will be any help or not in your case.

Re: Being flagged as Spam by Gmail's filters

Thank you, John. I've be wondering if the mx.futurequest.net origination point could be a contributing factor (although as you pointed out, that doesn't make much sense either). I'll keep fussing with settings.

Re: Being flagged as Spam by Gmail's filters

Adding a SPF record to your DNS may be the best suggestion as manfred pointed out, we do support SPF now.

If your mail is all handled by FutureQuest then it is a simple matter to enable a SPF record just enable it from your CNC Email Manager.

If you use other services for email you would need to craft your own SPF record and then add it as a TXT record to your DNS from the CNC DNS Manager.
