Apache IP manager file question

Due to recent overseas interest in my site I would rather not have, I have been using the Apache IP manager in CNC to block the IP's this traffic orginates from. My question is, if I rename the .htaccess file it creates to do this to .htaccess.bk will that switch off all IP blocking that CNC created? I am looking for a IP block "master switch" to turn on and off for testing reasons. Once I am done testing, I plan to rename it back to the original file name.

Wishing all a Merry Christmas.

Re: Apache IP manager file question

Merry Christmas Mont

The short answer is yes it would work BUT it is not recommended...

Longer answer... What you describe would work however it may/will cause issues with the Apache IP manager causing an inability to manage already existing entries..

However I did overhear someone mention the possibility of an on/off switch being added to the Apache IP Manager, so... maybe?

Let's hope we are on Santa's nice list and his minions bring lots of goodies to all of us, Bob. Happy New Year to you and all the crew as well.
