.ooo domain

Will FutureQuest host a domain name with the .ooo TLD?

For example, www.example.ooo

Re: .ooo domain

We don't currently host any domain with that TLD and http://www.nic.ooo/company/faq does not include any useful technical information upon which we can give you a definite answer, but as long as you can point the domain at the FutureQuest name servers either it will just work like other TLDs or you would certainly be entitled to a refund per our 60-day satisfaction guarantee:

Re: .ooo domain

So if I use exampleregistrar.ooo and have its name servers point mynewdomain.ooo to www.myfqsite.com/subdir/ and possibly have it hide the aliasing, that would be fine? Am I right that this needs no further action from FQ (setting up the IRM, etc.)?

Re: .ooo domain

You would need to Order an IRM Package for the new domain.

Re: .ooo domain

Bob,

If I can do that, that would be great. I could continue with a service I know is reliable and which I know how to use. The challenges are solvable here. But in a previous reply, Mike says he doesn't know if FQ can host any sites with the .ooo TLD. Could you shed some light on this? If I have to go elsewhere for the domain service, the challenges become more difficult.

Re: .ooo domain

What Mike was referring to is there have been a few TLDs in the past where the Issuer had specific requirements for hosts that had to be met before they would allow one of their TLDs being pointed to that host.

He mentioned "http://www.nic.ooo/company/faq does not include any useful technical information upon which we can give you a definite answer".

As there is no mention of specific requirements, most likely there would be no issue with FutureQuest hosting a .ooo domain.
