Happy Holidays from FutureQuest 2016 Edition

2016 seemingly has just flew by, it almost seems like yesterday that we were posting the 2015 Holidays Edition... It is even harder to believe that this is our 18th Christmas post...

The first one announced the "All New CNC" in 1999... WOW how time flies

First and foremost, we here at FutureQuest want to Thank all of our Site Owners for their continued support and we will continue to do everything in our power to continue to deserve your continued loyalty.

Reliability and Superior Client Service are the hallmarks of what FutureQuest is all about and we will consistently strive to achieve both your goals and ours.

During 2016 we have been able to bring some new enhancements to the FutureQuest Services...

  • A long overdue QuestMail Upgrade
  • A new and more Modern and Functional CNC Look and layout
  • Increased MySQL Backup capabilities
  • Additional API Integration
  • Network Infrastructure Upgrades
  • TLS Updates
  • CNC Certificate Manager
  • Let's Encrypt Automated Support

Now to be honest not all of these were smooth as we had hoped... The network upgrades were turbulent, however in the end more than worth the pain...

The TLS Updates, we found out quickly, would affect Apple users in ways we never anticipated. However we stepped back, came up with a work around before we fully integrated those changes and were able to both meet the requirements for PCI compliance and continue to provide mail access for those using antiquated email clients and Apple users which did not support the newer (2005+) >=TLSv1.1 secure protocols.

The increased API integration has helped increase the speed of new package activations, TLS Certificate Installations and Upgrades and provided a more unified CNC...

Others were far smoother, such as the CNC Certificate Manager and Let's Encrypt Automated Support, however in the end, all of these enhancements were steps taken to continue to provide a better FutureQuest experience for everyone

Now I am sure you are thinking... Ok great BUT where are the Presents

Yes we have presents

Ok, here we go...

One which has been asked for a number of times...

MySQL Database Increases

Trailblazer 25 DBs 30 DBs

Bandwidth is always another area were it seems we can use more

Trailblazer 135 GB 145 GB

And yet another present is under the tree...

Odyssey 6.5 GB 7.0 GB
High Capacity 13 GB 14 GB

Now, on to 2017... We are still working on Apache 2, which was expected to be somewhat of a challenge, however it has turned out to be a far bigger challenge than ever anticipated.. Not so much with Apache 2/PHP, but more with the memory usage on the new 64bit Genesis Class core. We are working on ways of reducing the overhead, so that there is more to go around for everyone.

We also have a number of projects in the "SkunkWorks" phase, some of which were just not ready for Christmas, and a number planned for 2017, that we just can't reveal at the present time, however we can promise you we are not resting on our laurels but working, every single day, to adding value to the FutureQuest hosting experience as well as continuing to provide Reliability and Superior Client Service

All of us at FutureQuest are looking forward to 2017 and continuing to serve our clients as well as future enhancements and services.

We do wish each and every one of you the very best during this Holiday Season and hope that your Holidays are
both Happy and Safe and wish one and all a Wonderful and Prosperous New Year.

The FutureQuest Team Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!

Re: Happy Holidays from FutureQuest 2016 Edition

Thank you for the outstanding service and support this past year along with the upgrades (esp. the DB increase). Now for the skunkworks projects, we've known about robo-Bob for some time and that the real Bob has been on a beach somewhere for the last 6 months, so can't wait to see what else is in the works. Perhaps a litebike so Terra can speed to the data center at the speed of light and beat Kevin there? Happy Holidays!

Yay! The extra disk space will be useful, but most of all I just like seeing the progress that FQ makes every year. The Lets Encrypt support has certainly made things easier for me, as well as the awesome support. Thanks FQ folks!
