Is there a way to make our cert apply to email, so we don't get the cert mismatch error? Thanks

Not at this time, however we will consider it for version 2.x of the CNC module, which will be expanded to handling ACME DNS TXT validation... We didn't go that route for the first release due to the underlying complexity of wiring it all in, so it was bumped to a future major release...
