[FQuest Notice] Switchgear upgrades

What: Potential network instability
When: 6/9/2016 (Wednesday night)
Window: 12am to 6am

We are removing and replacing the remaining older 100Mbit leaf switches and replacing them newer 1Gbit HP Procurve leafs... This is Phase 5 of the network switch upgrades...

The network instability should be kept to a minimum as we are mostly just moving switch port connections from old to new switch... However there is a brief time of interruption as the new switch has to learn and propagate the MAC address to all other switches...

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we kick up a little bit of dust while construction is underway...

We are beginning tonight's switchgear upgrades and hopefully any problems will be minimal to non-existent...

Tonight's work concluded around 5 am ET as it would have taken more than an hour to start work on the next switch...

Any (per server) disruption was less than 10 seconds, as we evacuated the old switch and moved the port connections to the new switch...

We are going to try and finish this on Friday night as there is only one switch left as well as relocating some connections off a core switch and distribute them to the new leafs...
