Re: PCI Compliance - TLSv1.0 Encryption Support

Does anyone here know how to export the folders of a Thunderbird/Eudora hybrid out into another client. I have looked into this before and found no information. I have a lot of client folders that I need to keep intact. I cannot just dump this. It's nuts here already without going back and forth between two for the next few months.

No, Terra, not working.

Terra - it appears the Apple community has been asking for a while with no resolution as of yet. I'm not sure why Outlook didn't work after making the previously posted changes. Only solution I can see is to have an isolated mail server for clients concerned with PCI scans and have TLS 1.0 disabled for them.

Abrams,

Are you getting a specific error?

Do you mean you are using Thunderbird with a Eudora like theme or something else?

I get this error:
Sending of message failed.
The message could not be sent because the connection to SMTP server pop.liquid-code.com timed out. Try again or contact your network administrator.

Re: PCI Compliance - TLSv1.0 Encryption Support

Hobbes, now that PCI has deprecated TLSv1.0, I think that will finally force Apple to come up with a solution and release a viable email client for affected clients... We are doing our best to do our part, and Apple certainly needs to do their part!

As far as an isolated mail server, that would be incredibly difficult due to the architecture of its design... The sheer fact that TLSv1.0 is handled by a service on a Community Server (or MQS), the PCI scans will find it... The only viable solution is to completely isolate ecommerce sites on a dedicated server with dedicated services... That would be a rather large burden for anyone trying to deploy a shopping cart...

Re: PCI Compliance - TLSv1.0 Encryption Support

Where are the up to date instructions on how to set up this new email system?

I'm going to buy Outlook 2016 and stop this hemorrhaging. I don't have time for this forum chat.

Please provide the documentation for your new email system.

Thanks.

Re: PCI Compliance - TLSv1.0 Encryption Support

Terra, I hear ya, but failing a hybrid interim solution, it'll be a hard sell for this 15+ year FQ reseller to tell clients iPhones are no longer supported...

Code:
Step 1: Detect PCI network scan
Step 2: Reroute scanning IP range to TLS 1.2 mail server

Hey, it worked for several years when testing VW's diesel sensors

Re: PCI Compliance - TLSv1.0 Encryption Support

Hobbes, There is no easy way to detect PCI network scans as the different vendors use differing scan techniques, as well as use random source IPs from all over the place... I would rather not try to cheat the PCI scans, no matter how burdensome they can be... Overall, they are trying to bring an industry into compliance with somewhat reasonable security specifications...
