latest v. of concrete5 app does not meet requirements

Version

[5.7.5.6 (requirements not met) (recommended)]

! The selected version 5.7.5.6 is not compatible with the selected install location.

Requirements:
php-intl-version-minimum v1 (detected: OFF)

If there is a reason for having this 'OFF', I understand.

If I can enable this extension, I would . . . for testing; for enlightenment; for etc. <g>

v.5.7.4.2 meets the requirements, but I do like the idea of "current".

wrt 'current', I'm testing a few apps to experience how these things work, and I share this, because I can <s>

Re: latest v. of concrete5 app does not meet requirements

You will need to change your change your PHP version to a minimum of PHP 5.4.x (5.4.45 to be exact)...
https://service.futurequest.net/inde...el-and-eselect

PHP 5.3 and older are well past EOL and no new features are added to them... They are only there for backwards compatibility...

I would highly recommend trying PHP 5.5 as PHP 5.4 is now EOL as well:

Thank you for respecting my personal choice.

I was aware that I can modify these things, but it has always been "ain't broke", so no urgency.

AFAIK, I'm slowly getting my mind(s) around these things, so there are no apparent 'legacy' considerations.

Considering this (esp., wrt "currency"), what issue(s) can I expect with elevating to newer/newest PHP?

Thank you for your thoughts.

Re: latest v. of concrete5 app does not meet requirements

Usually the impact is minimal, however the best thing to do is upgrade your scripts to current versions and check their 'Requirements' page... Everyone should be periodically upgrading their software for security reasons... We handle (PPR: Pack-Purge-Reset) a handful of hacked accounts per week, and in 99% of all cases, it is due to running old software with known exploits... The 1% is reserved for those hit with 0-Day exploits that no one knows about yet...

PHP has a lot written up on upgrading from one major version to another, so I'll abstain from reinventing the wheel:
http://php.net/manual/en/migration54.php

Hope that helps!

Re: latest v. of concrete5 app does not meet requirements

update:

Alas, concrete5 v.5.7.x.x all fail installation with PHP 5.5/.6

concrete5 v.5.6.x.x installs and (so-far) functions normally.

http://www.concrete5.org/community/f...databa/#798480

It seems as though the v.5.7 series require InnoDB functionality, which is not available as shared by Bob in the thread about my prior attempt to install DotClear.

Yep that appears to be the case ...

Version 5.7 requirements add InnoDB as a requirement
http://www.concrete5.org/documentati..._requirements/

We have removed the current version of Concrete5 from the Application Manager and may end up removing it all together, for security considerations ...
