App Manager > zenphoto install goes awry
Hey y'all.
Got a wild hair, and decided to try the App Manager in December.
Great fun.
WordPress install went smoothly (on the surface: haven't done a thing with it, since), but the process for zenphoto went seriously awry.
I don't quite remember the problems associated, but it (effectively) did not proceed as expected.
I managed to un-Install the App, but I was left with a fair bit of cruft I took into my own hands to remove (deletions seemingly-obvious, but neither remembered, nor documented).
Since I have probably the least important and non-visited website on the Planet (this includes me, for the most part, oddly-enough), it was only today that I noticed that I had no permission to access / on [this] server.
The bad bile of teh Adobe-fiasco rose immediately, but I was relieved in being able to access my [un-deprecated] CNC, so there appears to be no extant compromise.
Alas, it seems that my index.html was removed (and, there is no index.php, thus the 403 (I can only guess-to-remember that I deleted anything referring to zp, and deleted the index.php without checking to see if index.html was still there)). Additionally, my .htaccess was revised by the borked zp install.
Luckily, zp-install backed my index.html and .htaccess, so I was easily able to copy-back the originals without having to fiddle with uploading local content.
*whew*
In the interim, I dove into PHP, and have begun to devise my own gallery scripts to great success (locally, that is).
Has anyone else experienced something similar?
I now tarry to install other Apps via the interface if future borks are a possibility....
Thanks for letting me vent some steam.
Regards, Andyrew
