Kompozer error 530 Authentication failed

Hello. I am brand new at this and am trying to design a genealogy website called Ancestral Legacies. I have been using the sitewizard tutorials and have downloaded Kompozer and have obviously gotten this far. I have completed the SWzrd steps to the point of trying to Publish my test page and get an error message re; 530 Authentication failed so it will not Publish.

I have also noticed that when I click the Publish button the backslash for the www switches from the left side of the www to the right of it. Is that normal???
