Search Engine Watch

I complain about stuff in the Google section of SEW sometimes and I always see people's posts getting thousands (sometimes tens of thousands) of views and just a few replies. Is there anything up with that? Some kind of deal where search engines are allowed to spider at will? Do that many humans actually read those posts? I compared the replies/views with the Internet Marketing section of Tycoon Talk and there's a big difference. On Tycoon Talk, there are far fewer views even for threads with far more replies.

I took it to the next level.

Posts on Search Engine Watch get thousands (sometimes tens of thousands) of views and just a few replies and I'd like to formally accuse SEW of hanky panky and/or a conspiring with itself to inflate the view count.

Exhibit A: I compared the number of replies/views here with the number of replies/views in the Internet Marketing section of Tycoon Talk and there's a big difference. On Tycoon Talk, there are far fewer views even for threads with far more replies. It makes me wonder whether SEW is falsifying the number of views, maybe my using its own spiders to frequently spider the site and including each hit in the views.

Exhibit B: The users currently listed as being logged in are carpinteyrosoe, coreTeancap, SypeSuereesep, xIsadoraLafoyy, eryhossereeT, ThollumumnMop, darpPrusa, twisemaple, barbados2012, CECEPEELEFLEN, indinaKicG, Hutcernefef, CymnPheme, Neeseechearry, nemskenry, sHorgraidgeGedjt, Scundsweesee, and gadaolerkm. Notice a similarity in the names? All long, no real names, and no real words. As if the same person thought of all the names.

I rest my case.
