Re: Facebook on website
Oh, sure - it's easy. On the signup page for FB, just click the link under the "Sign Up" button that says "Create a Page" . . . that's what you need, a FB "Page" vs. a regular account. The link will have you select among Business, Organization, Product, etc.
After that, it's just like filling out a profile for anyone or anything - contact info, a picture or two, and so on. It's helpful to make posts every few days so that people who have "Liked" your Page, will see updates about the museum happenings, specials, etc. That's sort of the point to FB internally.
Externally, FB will give you several options for putting a FB gadget on your own website. Visitors there, can then hop out to your FB page (the implied purpose is to "like" the page for their own enhanced FB usage.)
You should promote the new FB page at the brick and mortar site too - "Find us on FB now!" - and ask those who are affiliated with the organization to promote the FB page on their own FB accounts with a link.
That's all there is to it, really - although there are a ton of great ideas for really ramping up the visibility out there - do some googling, get your own FB account and "like" some similar organizations, and notice how they use the FB page. (For example, you often see specials run just on FB - or just on Twitter. It gives people incentive to link to you.)
