i want to have different pages separately registered in the search engine, say:

www.abc.com/apple/
www.abc.com/orange/
www.abc.com/pear/

will i be penalized by the search engine for lower rating?

I'm not sure I understand. Are these separate subdirectories with the same contents? I don't really know much about SEO but at least we can clarify for whoever does.

A better strategy would be:
apple.abc.com
orange.abc.com
pear.abc.com
