Did you mean: Google Siberia or how I was defeated by a superhero and a tanning cream

A google search for my site using my domain name was #1 ranked until recently......However now when I search:

ex. google search for the name of my example site (Examplo)

Google returns:

Do you mean? Example-o : Top 2 results shown

1. Example-o - wiki - a superhero who....

2. Example-o - The best in suntaning creams...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Results for Examplo:

Examplo.com - My site....What am I doing all the way down here? and what can I do to be not a "Did you mean" site

It could be any one of a thousand reasons, if you let me know the domain I will take a look for you.

Hello and thank you for looking into this...here is a link to my site (trying to keep my site/name off forum pages, until I can grasp this google indexing thingy)

At the moment if I search for yourdomain or yourdomain.com you are listed first. Is that now the same for you or are you still getting the results you described above?

In both cases there is a Did you mean: as you described. I will come to that later.

Re: Did you mean: Google Siberia or how I was defeated by a superhero and a tanning c

For my first post I see this most when I google yourdomain (Examplo) without the .com.

It seems to change, from #1 rank to the do you mean #3 and back again randomly, different browsers seem to affect it too, maybe it knows you googled it once and is giving you an alternate on your next go?. Another test is to type in Examplo in the url with no .com FF (mac) this will take directly to the wiki for Example-o, safari, camino are more generous and go to Examplo.com (my site).

Also type in Examplo in the google tool bar: FF (mac) will auto-fill (drop down) the 2 Example-o sites and not list what you typed: Examplo

ps. did another search and got another do mean word all together, why does google hate me?

Is purchasing adwords the way to proceed?

Are you logged into a Google account while you are searching?

Goggle does not hate you it simply does not know enough about you

Google relies very heavily on incoming links and their anchor text to determine how a web page will rank for a given search. I can see only a handful (from ebay) and you should aim to have hundreds if not thousands.

Not usually, but I haven't really been paying attention to that, I will from now on...

If you are logged into a Google account you will see personalized search results and this may be why you are seeing different results, particularly in different browsers. Also you may be flip-flopping between different Google datacenters.

Try to obtain high quality incoming links. Make a list of your competitors and use Yahoo Site Explorer to list their inbound links. Where your competitors have links is a good place to start to look for possible links for your site.

I can see your site is perfect for a blog. If you think you can write four or more posts a week (they do not have to be long) then set one up. Adding new content on a regular basis with informative blog posts and engaging your customers and potential customers in dialogue will in a couple of years pay outstanding dividends in your particular niche.
