Terra - perhaps you can provide a State of FQ address?

Unfortunately, I'm not much for words on occasions like this... Consider it being locked in a tech dungeon for most of my life...
What I can say right now is that I'm proud that we've made it to the 10th year milestone and survived in a highly volatile and cutthroat market... We've been able to control our growth over the years which has prevented us from overextending ourselves or our services... This alone has killed so many hosting companies in the last few years, causing them to turn to outside investment (read: losing control of their company) or has put them in the position to be bought out (read: eaten) by larger companies...
FutureQuest, Inc. started as a very focused hosting company, and has remained that way even till today... I still believe that our Service and Support is pretty much in the top levels in the industry and it is our goal to continue that level by backing it with years of expertise in knowing our systems inside and out... We have also remained in business based on our own merits and have never taken any outside investment funding (though plenty has been offered and declined) with our core ideal to have expenditures directly tied to revenues... If we own everything 100%, then no one can take it away...
I would like to personally thank all of the 'old-timer' clients that believed in us in the early years, and that still believe in us today... The Community that they have formed here is one of the most diverse I've seen around, and their technical aptitude and compassion to help one another is astounding...
As we've hit our 10 year milestone, there is a lot of inward soul searching as to where we want to go now... The server's cores, though rock solid in stability and performance, are feeling their age and much work is going into the next generation core (hardware, software, and architecture)... Trying to balance stability and performance, without being pushed to drudge it down with a bunch of flashy whizz-bang features is a difficult task indeed... We've seen many hosting companies get caught in this trap, and they have suffered tremendously in trying to stabilize deep complexity... The goal of our cores is to keep them as simple as possible, while still providing a strong functional toolset for clients to utilize... Believe it or not, it is 10 times harder to keep things simple, yet that simplicity allows us to isolate problems rapidly and fix them... We have a very strong track record in that department...
There is so much that I wanted to do for the 10 Year Anniversary, but alas the severe downturn in the economy has forced us to take a few steps back and batten down the (expenditure) hatches... We have survived the recession storms before, and we'll do it again despite the fact that our vendors keep increasing our prices instead of lowering them (something that we have resisted doing to our own clients) and we have to find creative ways of doing more with less... Once the storm clears, we should be in a much better position for beefing up our hardware and network infrastructure along with a more dynamic server core that will facilitate easing the overhead of plugging in new features and abilities...
I would also like to thank the entire FutureQuest, Inc. Team with their level of unrelenting excellence in everything that they do... Over the years, the hosting landscape has changed many times, and they walk into work everyday with a smile on their face and always perform their tasks to the best of their abilities while adapting to constant change in the hosting arena!
Happy 10th Year Anniversary FutureQuest, Inc.!
