I almost skipped the commencement, at least for myself. I mean, it's "just" our 2 year degrees, and we are going straight into 4 year programs (and beyond, most likely.) But then my mom came cross country for it, and my daughter's boyfriend wanted to come from Cleveland . . . and so on. So it was last night, and we went, and it turned out to be really nice.
Here's my newly A.A.-minted daughter. Her gold sash and tassel are for
Phi Theta Kappa membership:
And me, with the same degree:
We walked across the stage together too, but this blurry thing is the only proof. That's me exiting, and A. starting across. They said, "...and Amelia Stehn, daughter of previous grad Miranda!" (That's my real name. Now you all know all of my secrets

! Very cool, I've never been interviewed before.
The night before graduation (Wed. PM) we had a special ceremony for scholarship recipients . . . all three of us (my youngest daughter just started at the college) got scholarships, yay! My youngest, who will be a continuing student, got $500 towards her fall tuition. Amelia got $1250 towards
Smith, and I am getting $3000 towards
the four year school I'll be attending in the fall, down the road a bit.
