Video conferencing

Any recommendation on software or service to do desktop video conferencing for a small business (e.g., WebEx, GoToWebinar)? Interested in either one-to-one or multipoint-to-multipoint. Document sharing and whiteboard are a bonus. Details on first-hand experience (e.g., reliability, security, etc) appreciated. Thx!

Re: Video conferencing

I can tell you that Netspoke was great, before being bought out by Premier, and now it's had enough problems where we're dropping it (and probably going to GoToWebinar, as we've had excellent success with GoToMyPC).

Never used (well, never PAID FOR...) WebEx, just too expensive for our tastes.

Re: Video conferencing

Used to use Macromedia Breeze (now Acrobat Connect) after the Adobe buyout. It was great and one reason I liked it was that we had a license so we had it on our servers with complete control and anyone participating only needed the Flash plugin installed unless they were presenting to the group.

Not cheap and not sure how it is now after Adobe purchase and a few more versions.

Re: Video conferencing

Thanks Paul & Noah.

WRT Connect, this is a virtual organization so only the Adobe-hosted solution would be an option, and that looks pretty pricey, but will check it out further.

Re: Video conferencing

You can deploy on premise desktop video conferencing appliance such as RHUB appliance in order to conduct web conferences, video conferences, free audio conferencing, webinars etc. It is easy to use and best part is, it is only onetime cost as compared to hosted services.
