How did I miss this? I must be working too hard. Happy Birthday Randall and Monty, I hope it was a good day for you!

From TourEgypt.net:

Quote:
The frog goddess Heqet was often shown as a frog-headed woman or as a frog. Because the Egyptians saw that there were many frogs, all appearing from the Nile, they associated the frog with fertility and resurrection, and so Heqet was a goddess of childbirth. The four male primeval gods of the Ogdoad - Nun (water), Amen (invisibility), Heh (infinity) and Kek (darkness) - were all frog gods.
I was wondering if it was the childbirth thing ( Perhaps you've got a sideline in midwifery?) or if you prefer being invisible and infinite !

Ixnay on the childbirth stuff -- too gloopy. But invisibility could have its uses, and being infinite would shorten my commute if nothing else.

Cool. But don't let Deb see that page, Mandi. Turtles had a bad rep in ancient Egypt...

Meanwhile, in a disturbing new development, Employer #1 has come to understand me a little too well. She and my mom both got me the same card, and I was already convinced that someone had me in mind when they wrote this one:

If a tree falls in the forest and then springs back upright as a joke, do the squirrels freak out?
No word on how the frogs (or turtles) reacted.

my kids got me a card that read "you might be redneck if you have to climb a tree to get your fishing lure down". Been there, done that, lol.

You made me go look that one up, Sheila. I was afraid it meant something ... gloopy.

Is that as good as being a Frog God?
