@#$% vBulletin strikes again.

I tried out some chairs at OfficeMax and Staples. A couple of them seemed nice enough (the rest were either cheap-feeling, totally uncomfortable or both), but I'll keep looking. It's weird how they only have the less expensive chairs in the stores. I guess people who buy $800 chairs don't have to try them out first.

Racing seats are also designed to keep you from moving.
Don't be such a wet blanket, Dan. They look really cool.

I do have to agree with Wassercrats on the armrest issue. If I'm gonna spend $300+ to convert a racing car seat, it oughta have armrests.

I bought a chair at office max (or depot, can't remember which one) for like $180 and it sorta looks like an Aeron chair (people alwasy think it is) but, it is not as adjustable as an Aeron. Anyway, it fits me real well, has armrests and never makes my back hurt. I recommend it very much. I don't know the name of it or anything... but it has a webbed back and armwrests and a foam-y wide seat. I like it. Good luck on the search!

I bought one of the Office Max/Depot <$200 high back chairs a few years back. Felt pretty good initially, but wore out within a matter of months. I've talked to a few other people that had the same experience. Seems to be about all the quality you get in that price range.

Specialty furniture stores are your best bet for trying more upscale items.

I know, I know... but I've had mine for about a year and a half. And I am pretty hard on chairs... I'm not a small person I'm very pleased with my chair, is all I can say.
