Perhaps a double-major at a university with art and management schools? Of course getting the faculty of the two schools to play along may be a challenge

or maybe Benji means graphic arts as a preparation for an advertising career?

Hello,
thanks for your answer.

No, it is not for an advertising career, but for an art "dealer / merchant" career.

Cordially,
Benj

Or perhaps gallery management, art sales. Promotion or sales representation of artists? These things would be business courses, those areas specific to particular genres/media are typically too narrow and fleeting to be academic courses and need to be learned OTJ.

It would depend on the emphasis... A good business degree would apply in any field, and most Fine Art schools have courses in art business.

If your friend is an artist I'd say the best possible art school, but if not apply to the best business schools.

More details about your friend's goals would help.

I missed the last post. Gallery management would be retail, artist management is like any wholesale trade except that artists tend to be much more difficult to work with than other manufacturers...

On third thought, Business major, Art History minor. As with any choice of schools, apply to the best that will accept you. Practical considerations usually intervene as well...
