OK, here's your chance to nitpick ME

Against my better judgement, here's a site I just finished building (well, mostly finished -- there's one section missing). I'd like to hear how it looks for Mac users in particular, both IE and Safari.

Due to the nature of the company, I assume they wrote all the content, but I wouldn't mention "experience" without saying how much, or claim "pizazz" when there is none. There's alot of whitespace and it looks a little unfinished.

I'd emphasize "We are a full service advertising agency" rather than make it just another item on that list of we's under services. And all those we's look a little amateurish.

There aren't that many ads in any of the portfolio sections. There are enough, but I wouldn't have used "read more" links. I'd put them all on the same page.

You mention that you're only showing excerpts from one of the portfolios, but it looks like you're only showing excerpts of the Rustic Acres print ad too, but you don't mention it.

I don't know advertising terminology, but just about all the items mentioned in the portfolio page seem like print ads to me. Maybe you should find a term that better distinguishes between them. Like maybe call the "print ad" section "newspaper & magazine ads." I'm not sure about this one.

And what's with the URL "http://www.dickcommer.com/adworks.php?sec=services"? Shouldn't you make it "http://www.dickcommer/services"? And the domain name has it's problems too, but I assume that's beyond your control and you probably wouldn't want to say anything.

There's inconsistent capitalization and punctuation (!) for "The ad works." Maybe that's intended, but I noticed it.

I checked it in IE. Overall, nice job.

According to Word pizazz is spelled "pizzazz," and I have to agree with Barry all that white/empty space looks very 1998ish. The guy holding the light bulb is a bit retro too... A little more creativity, imagination, incisiveness, know-how, innovation, commitment, experience and pizzazz please.

Otherwise it looks good.

The contact form looks really sharp. Maybe that seems a silly point to complement, but I see sooooo many default forms out there that are just . . . .blech.

I like the header graphics - simple, but commanding.

Good work! I hope it brings good things to the firm !

Okay, this is a super, super tiny nitpick - and it doesn't even have to be if you decide you Just Don't Care LOL . . . but your favicon.ico looks very much like a Naval Services' rank insignia for Ensign, which seems rather far afield from the subject matter of the website. I get how it matches the layout of the site and everything, and I personally couldn't really care less (and I'm married to a Former Ensign of a Naval Service!) . . . but I thought I'd say something, just in case you didn't realize.

I don't even see a favicon. I remember there's a right and wrong way to do favicons. I guess you did it the wrong way.

Hunh. Guess I'm still stuck in 1998 (no big surprise there).

I like the white space.

I hate the busy/cluttered look of many of "today's" web sites. Takes so much effort on those to read all of the stuff to find the one link I want to click on.

Favicon echos the heading motif, makes a logo of the heading, works for me.

Yes, that is definitely the trend, and not a trend you can ignore if ads are your business...

White space can work well, but the composition of this site is too prosaic. Kind of reminds me of the sites we made when we were learning about "heading" and "center" tags. Just not the effect you want when you're selling pizzazz. Pizza maybe...

If you use white space a definite effort should be made to show that it's not just ordinary white space.
