Cannot upload to correct directory

I have a directory, /big/dom/xmenaartgallery/www/artists/photos, but cannot upload to it directly because it does not appear on the options when I am selecting the directory to upload to. All the other directories I can access easily. Am I overlooking something?

Thank you.

Re: Cannot upload to correct directory

Hello Barbara,

What are you using to upload your files with? Also what address are you trying to upload to?

Using a standard FTP client the directory you refer to is available for upload.

Re: Cannot upload to correct directory

Hi again Barbara,

If you are using the CNC to upload files you would need to navigate to the directory in question and then once you are viewing the contents of that directory you would use the Upload Files button and you would see:

Files will be uploaded to: /big/dom/xmenaartgallery/www/artists/photos

Re: Cannot upload to correct directory

Hi again Barbara,

Then you have to navigate to the Directory you want to upload files to.

Click on /www from your File Manager then click on artists and then photos and then you would be able to upload to /big/dom/xmenaartgallery/www/artists/photos

Re: Cannot upload to correct directory

I have tried that: go to the proper directory on the file manager; click on "Upload Files"; click on the downarrow to select the directory to upload to; www/artists/photos is not there, although the directory does exist.

Have been loading photos into www/artists and then moving them to www/artists/photos, but would like to avoid that step if possible.

Thanks.

Hi again Barbara,

Make sure you are within the /big/dom/xmenaartgallery/www/artists/photos directory and then click the Upload Files button from the bottom of the page.

Re: Cannot upload to correct directory

The File Upload option that is presented when you click on File Manager from the Left Navigation in the CNC is limited to Top level directories in your /big/dom/xdomain and /big/dom/xdomain/www directories.

Subdirectories of those will not be listed as in some accounts the listing would possibly 100's if not 1000's of directories.

For instance:
/big/dom/xdomain/www/artists
would be listed but
/big/dom/xdomain/www/artists/photos
is not.

I hope this helps clarify.

Note a far more efficient method of uploading files would be to use a standard FTP client such as Core FTP (my personal favorite)
