Dell multitouch screens

I see many dell laptops now feature an option for a "multitouch" screen. Has anyone here used one of these? How well does the touch work on the dell laptop multitouch screens (running windows)? Do you actually find yourself using it and liking it?

Re: Dell multitouch screens

From using my ipad, I thought it could be an interesting option for browsing to have to have a touchscreen plus a full keyboard/trackpad, but I see today that dell apparently pulled the multitouch touchscreen option from the xps 15 and 17 line. No longer available on the xps line.

Re: Dell multitouch screens

It will be interesting to see if this comes back soon, as the touchscreen is almost a necessity with Windows 8 pushing the Metro interface.

Re: Dell multitouch screens

I believe apple in the past said a notebook with touchscreen would be ergonomically poor. I'm not sure whether I'd prefer a tablet with a keyboard or a notebook (with a bigger screen) with a touchscreen, but from working with the ipad, I think I would enjoy touch functionality. I got the above from dell's live chat only. I hope something interesting is coming to replace it.

Re: Dell multitouch screens

Now 6 months later, with the release of Windows 8 Dell has released the XPS 12 convertible laptop/tablet and a 15z Ultrabook with touchscreen. The XPS12 convertible seems to be getting the most attention.
